We are halfway through 2024, so I thought I'd give another progress update on MYTHIANS. But this time, on the website I forget to promote, just because I need to type longer than the Twitter's character limit😭

(Fyi, "MYTHIANS" in all caps = the show, "Mythians" as a noun = the creatures the show is based on. Just so it doesnt get confusing for the rest of the blog post lolll)

Essentially, we are very close to exiting the pre-production stage and entering the actually bringing the project to life phase, now that the casting call is over. I've cast a few roles but not too many (mainly cuz I am currently out of town and I want to be sure I like somebody for a role before I message them about it), but there have been a few issues I've run into. These are probably gonna be the last few changes I make to the concept of MYTHIANS itself so I can actually get moving with the first episode, and exit "pre-production" hopefully by the end of June. Here are some things we are changing as well as some new announcements:

- The setting of "Canadamerica" is being changed. I feel like it would be better if I made an entirely fictitious location to place the main setting of MYTHIANS. Idk Canadamerica is just causing problems so the tweet revealing the Canadamerica country has been deleted.

- The script is being worked on still. Due to finals in May and being out of state for most of June, I've had less time to work on the script, but also I've just been not been able to focus that much when I do have time. Is it ADHD? Probably, as this has been a thing I've seen happening a lot even before Ep1 pre-production began . I wanna revise it a little bit before I start recording with the VAs. Coincidentally, picking between all the talented people that auditioned has been hard and finishing the cast might take a couple weeks, so I will try my hardest to finish the script in that time.

- When we exit pre-production, we will finally post the Olli Acharya (third MC) promotional image (like we did for Sylvia and Mico). Along with this, we plan on making and posting the reference sheets around this time too, so yall can draw the three if you want! (Use #MythiansArt if you do!! Please)

- Every episode of MYTHIANS will have their own poster. We aren't sure when it would be posted in the process of the ep's development, but we're mentioning it now while we're listing out some other stuff y'all can look forward to.

- We have 200 Mythians planned out and ready, but we will be going back and adding some more (maybe in fan-design contests) and repolishing the ones we do have. One of our plans in the last few weeks of pre-production is to go through every Mythian, make sure theyre as perfect as can be, and reveal a couple in batches on the Mythologica page (as well as in some other areas :3) so we can see your thoughts too! And on that note, one way we will reveal Mythians is via:

- WEB COMICS!!!!!! Studio Chiral will be doing Webcomics!! Something I want for Studio Chiral is to make a ton of projects like MYTHIANS, whether it be in Animation form or in Webcomic form (along with things like dubbed versions of the webcomics on our YT), because I love creating stories!! Studio Chiral has been a method for me to share MY projects, ideas, essentially a place I can dump my silly ideas and stories because I like having silly ideas and creating stories. I just don't have the time or money to do multiple animated projects, but web comics I *can* do! :3 I have a few ideas floating around for webcomics, and you'll see one or two announced here and there. ANYWAYS, where I was going with this: We are currently planning a webcomic based on MYTHIANS, essentially a secret unrevealed character oooOoOOo documenting a ton of Mythians in their habitats. It's a tame-idea, which is why it works best in webcomic form. But it would help with showcasing the wild amount of Mythians we've created, since there's only so much time in the camera cause of how long indie animation takes. Just throwing out an idea, perhaps we could put out a big batch of Mythians maybe like 10 or 15, then host some polls to see which Mythians will be featured in the next issue of the webcomic. (Issue? Episode? I really don't know what you'd call the installments of a webcomic, does anybody know?) We don't have a name for this Webcomic yet, it's still in the "really neat idea I want to work on further" phase but we'll reveal stuff in due time.

- On the topic of webcomics, they'd be posted to most webcomic sites like Webtoon and others (I know there's more but I've never used 'em lmao). However they'd be first put on this website, the Studio Chiral website, in their own little section. Then, of course, the dubbed version would be on our YT only lol.

- Lastly, we understand the concept of MYTHIANS might still be confusing for people, like "what makes it different from other similar properties like Pokemon?" or "what the hell is a type/tribe?" or "why isn't there a list of Mythians I can look at without having to scroll for half an hour on y'alls twitter?" (these are word for word thing's I've been asked lol) Let's go through these one by one:

- One thing that seperates Mythians from other creatures similar to it is that they were introduced into the world. The concept is they were created and that the setting of the show would be in a world similar to ours except the events of the past century or two have been altered due to the existence of Mythians. 

- Types are elemental classifications a Mythian falls into. A Mythian can have one or two, and the way they react to being hit by an attack of a type varies on how the Mythians type(s) interact with the attack's type. That is pretty standard for this type of project, but Tribes are pretty unique. Tribes are a classification that determines how a Mythian interacts with another Mythian outside of battle. Essentially, they get along better with Mythians of the same tribe, and find it harder to get along with those of different tribes. There are 19 types and 8 main tribes. Once we're done polishing MYTHIANS (including renaming some types and tribes to sound better because some are downright abysmal oh my gosh), we will re-introduce the types and tribes in another blog post dedicated to showing off the technical side of Mythians that will take a backseat in change for story-telling during the actual show.

- As said earlier, I'm working on the Mythologica page to showcase all the Mythians we've revealed so far and showcase more in the future. And as for the name Mythologica, it'll be explained in the show but it's a phone-like-device used to track Mythians and search up info and also essentially just a phone elsewise. It's being used here on the website to refer to the masterlist of Mythians created.

I believe that is everything of note, along with some Yappanese. We want to have something to show for our work by the August #indieanimationday, so that will be in the works!! I've made mistakes, I'll keep making mistakes, I feel like I'm constantly forgetting a crucial aspect that I need to communicate. Overall, there's a lot and I'm trying my best to work it out.
