The crystalizing light has grown large enough to form wings that it uses to fly, and even a "stinger" for self-defense. The glass is made of the purest light Fractera naturally emits, and it can use its sharp edges to pierce rifts in the air and cut through any material.

Fractera was created by Purrplecolored. Officially revealed August 17th, 2024.

Name Origin

Fractera's name is a combination of "Refracting", as in how light refracts through glass, and "-tera" from lepidoptera, the order of winged insects like butterflies and moths.

Fractera's Turkish name, "Kırılbek", comes from "kırılmak" to break or to refract, and "kelebek" the word for a butterfly.

History

Fractera has gone through some weird changes over its time. Like Priswaddle's original concept, it was originally part Earth-type due to being made of rock instead of glass. It was basically a wasp with a drill for a stinger (sound familiar?). Its name was "Drillasp". When Drillboa was intorduced, I renamed Drillasp to "Parawasp", then with the refresh, I redid the concept for the entire line entirely. The glass that crystalized on the back of Priswaddle have grown large enough to form wings, and even a stinger. Fractera's counterpart, Lividoptera, both have names rooted in the term "lepidoptera" as a way to connect them better as counterparts.
