#007 - The Coloured Bug Mythian

This little critter has a very unique interaction with light. The substance that forms around Colorpillar's outer shell has two very distinct traits. On about half of Colorpillar, it is overtly reflective, stunning any prey that would eat Colorpillar long enough for it to escape or hide. On the other half of Colorpillar, the substance isn't reflective within the slightest, but is painful to touch. These two very different defensive mechanisms has split how it evolves.

Colorpillar was created by Purrplecolored. Officially revealed August 17th, 2024. Colorpillar has appeared in the following comic chapters: n/a

History

Somehow, this bug survived from 2019. Though, it looks very different then when it did back then. I don't have much to say on it other than it is a colourful bug. For the August 2025 refresh, I used this idea to overhaul the Shimmer Technique evolutions of Colorpillar, turning it into a light based colour bug. Before Colorpillar, it was called "Bugment" (bug + pigment), and way back in 2019 it was called "Wrike". I have no idea where that name came from.

Name Origin

Colorpillar's name comes from the word "Color", and the bug "Caterpillar".

Colorpillar's Turkish name, "Tırenkli", comes from "Tırtıl", as in caterpillar, and "Renkli", meaning coloured.
